The Grand Galactic Inquisitor is a visitor from another planet who has come to planet Earth to judge it's inhabitants. His ship landed near the Venture Compound and he followed the Ventures for the next few days. In order to observe humans acting naturally, he'd ask his subjects to pay no attention to his 12-foot robotic frame and chonnie-chilling voice. His request to disregard him came in the form of him thundering the phrase "IGNORE ME!"
In "Twenty Years to Midnight", the main plotline consists of gathering pieces of an invention that Jonas Venture made 20 years ago based on a radio transmission he received from space. The purpose of this invention turned out to be opening up a doorway for an alien, disguised as Jonas Sr., to kill The Grand Inquisitor, supposedly saving the entire planet.
